The multi agency response included two rescue boat's and a shore crew from Killaloe Coast Guard unit, Coast Guard Helicopter R117 from Waterford, Killaloe Fire and Rescue service, National Ambulance service & An Garda Síochána.At 16:58hrs the Marine Coordination Centre in Valentia activated the units pager system and within 6 minutes of receiving the call the first rescue boat was on route to the incident, two minutes after launching the crew were on scene and found the person being helped on board a moored vessel on the Tipperary shore in Ballina, the unit's D.class rescue boat was also been launched from the public slipway in Ballina Co Tipperary. Coast Guard crew member's boarded the vessel and carried out an assessment of the casualty , the casualty was wrapped in warm blankets and monitored until the arrival of the Ambulance a short time later.Coast Guard and Fire and Rescue crew's worked together to transfer the casualty from the vessel to the awaiting Ambulance where the casualty was transported to University Hospital Limerick.We wish the person a speedy recovery. ...
